This organization is run by volunteers and we're glad you've decided to join us as we continue to further our mission of enhancing the development of Alaskans throughout their lifespan, primarily by promoting access to the highest possible quality of counseling services. Membership and Benefits

Membership Application/Renewal Form

Membership in AKCA is based upon a calendar year.   And what does your $55 get for you?  Well aside from the knowledge that you are supporting education and advocacy for the counseling profession in Alaska, you receive a discount at all AKCA sponsored continuing education events.  You also gain the right to decide what the organization does, and the delight of networking with other AKCA members.

Members can participate in our monthly teleconference meetings to help decide the future of the Association.  Our phone line will be open so that members may participate from across the state.  Look for information in an e-mail to members about calling in.

Our national organization, the American Counseling Association, has over 200 members from the state of Alaska.  We out number several states with larger populations of counselors.  By joining or rejoining the Alaska Counseling Association you are demonstrating your commitment to the profession, not only at the national level, but also here in our amazing state.

Need to transfer a license from another state?

The licensing board has approved the use of the American Association of State Counseling Boards (AASCB) National Credentials Registry to make this process more streamlined.  For the state of Alaska, a counselor must meet the requirements for Registrant Group II.  For more information, visit the AASCB website  www.aascb.org
